Default Slowed light stored for 1.5 seconds

I just read an article from a December publication by Science News. The article titled "Frozen light stays fresh longer" discusses how a beam of yellow light was stored in a cloud of Bose-Einstein condensates (ultra cold atoms) for 1.5 seconds. To any scientific minds out there, does this mean that perhaps time is slowed down as well within this cloud?

    Pretty interesting, http://www.sciencenews.org/view/gene...s_fresh_longer

I don't think it does. The speed of light in a vacuum is constant, but it's slowed down as it passes through matter... apparently substantially on occasion, if I get this experiment.

Yes that is what I thought after reading a few wikipedia pages. I guess they use the word "stored" loosely in the article because it isn't really "stored", just slowed by the BEC. I think.
