The human body is terribly flawed in an unlimited number of ways. It either leads us to believe God hated us or he wanted us to suffer.
Or does it support the theory of evolution and the struggle against adversity?
I am inclined to think the latter.

I think the proper question would be "is god the best humans could come up with?" and the answer would be yes while it made sense three thousand years ago, and NO now that we know better.

If you've ever watched a David Attenborough wildlife special, you'll realize just how much we lack physically by comparison to other animals. An omnipotent god could have created humans (supposedly "in his image") with eyesight like eagles, wings to fly, stomachs like vultures that could handle anything, eight limbs like an octopus and the speed of a cheetah. We are so unimpressive that one might wonder if "god" was on a drunken binge when he made humans.
Evolution by natural selection makes so much more sense. No "god" required.

totally.
only evolution could explain the quirk of nature that is the human species. we have wimpy puny bodies because all the resource goes into developing this huge brain of ours that make us the most self-absorbed, delusional, neurotic animals on earth who can create amazing feats of engineering and beauty... and weapons of mass destruction. oh, and we also have a penchant for raping the planet in order to produce an insane amount of consumer items we don't even need.
if we were created, it would've been a pretty eccentric (or insane) god to have created such fuck ups, and in "his" image no less!
on the flip side, in evolutionary terms, it's also pretty amazing we ended up the way we did. biologists and evolutionists - people you'd think who'd be terribly pessimistic about human beings since we're not special creations of god - look at us as direct descendants of the earliest molecules in an unbroken chain of life. they trip out on this stuff. and they keep doing their research and studies in order to learn more and more about ourselves.
this is the kinda thing that I find inspiring and gives me some hope in the world![]()

A truly clever designer would not have designed a world with beer, bacon, chocolate, cheesecake, etc and then made us so susceptible to weight gain and weight-related diseases.
It should be obvious to anybody that evolution works similar to the old joke about surviving a bear attack - you don't have to be super fit, you only have to be a little more fit than your buddy. In natural selection it is not necessarily the "fittest" individuals that survive and pass on their genes, only those who are fitter than the competition. Perhaps the phrase "Survival of the fittest" should be amended to "Survival of the Adequate".
