Maybe check with the one school system organization to see if they've already started one and let the news know when it's going to be brought forward.

BTW, if you're writing a letter to your MLA:
Type up a letter in your own words, print it and mail it. Politicians don't give much weight to emails and if your message seems generic, it generally gets dismissed.

Also, if you can get people to write letters, make sure you collect copies. Petitions with additional written letters will have more weight.

Zen is this about the silly charter schools?

Man I left AB because of consistent conservative gov'ts. I am more shocked about the richest provinces lack of health care. People dying in ambulances, kids and prisonners sharing hospital rooms.

Here in the UK politicians are going the opposite way with allowing almost anyone (i.e. religions) to get government money to run their own schools and set their own curriculum too. There are now places where there are no non-religious schools at all. I fail to understand - the schools have the children for 5 days and religions has 2 days for their own indoctrination. I suppose 2 days isn't enough to brain-wash children these days - either that or they run scared of their religion's children getting next to those of another religion or of none and finding out about other ways of thinking.

Find a local secular group within your area:

Then get together people who feel the same. Create a separate entity on the basis of creating a cohesive, consistent school system that doesn't discriminate based on religion.
