Default Michael Jackson / Farrah Fawcett Tribute Thread

Today we lost two celebrity icons, Michael Jackson, who died of sudden heart attack, and Farrah Fawcett, who lost her battle against cancer. Yesterday we lost Ed McMahon.

This thread is dedicated to them, may we remember the legacy they left behind of good music and entertainment.

Today I also sadly saw on my facebook that it was the conservative religious that were the ones commenting, calling Jackson a "freakshow molester" that has tainted Fawcett's death. Such poor taste. I do not think all religious are like this and infact I doubt a liberal religious person would say such a thing, but it just goes to show that when someone lives a different lifestyle, such as Jackson breaking molds of normality, there is always the more conservative types that never tend well to change. Also, the courts ruled Jackson did not molest children and infact it is often thought it was a money grab by the parents of the kids.

I will remember them by their great works.

*Edit* I just noticed YouTube went down and disabled all embedding of the Thriller video from every user that uploaded it. I encourage you to watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtyJbIOZjS8

I'll always remember the famous "Farrah-red-bathing-suit" poster my brother had hanging in his room. I think every teenage boy had one at the time. She was lovely and a very underrated actress. I wish we'd seen more of her.

    RIP Farrah.

Michael Jackson has definitely broken some molds of normality to say the least! but not all of them intentionally, I don't think. you can see how his unconventional upbringing, early fame and domineering father has psychologically scarred him and made him self-loathing at times. it's sad that such a talent had so much to battle externally with the public and media and internally with his demons.

on another note, I've been on a 70's sci fi movie kick the past few months, so I think I just might watch Logan's Run tonight in tribute to Farrah Fawcett!

I've been watching it on the news for the past few hours, those closest to him say he was a big 'kid' sometimes as an adult because he never had that opportunity as a child. When he was a kid he was constantly working with the Jackson 5. His childishness in his adulthood was his attempt to relive childhood as best he could, something he never had an opportunity to do.

An hour before I heard he was rushed to hospital, I was doing the moon walk on my kitchen floor.

It is a sad day indeed. While I'm too young to really grasp at what kind of an actress Farrah Fawcett was, Michael Jackson will indeed be missed by me. Does anybody know if the album he was set to release along side his London tour is at all completed?

I was bored one night a few years ago and so I googled how to do the moonwalk and spent an hour practicing, I have it down perfectly now. I always thought it would be hard but it's surprisingly easy so long as there is little friction between the floor/foot.

Has anyone seen the inmate version of thriller?
