    Default Finding new books ...

When winter strikes, I tend to just hibernate and read mad amounts of books.

I haven't really found any good online community/database for finding books. Most of the books I find out about online are from authors on fora.tv who give talks about their books.

Usually if I'm stuck downtown and I've got some time, I just check the library, or go to chapters and window shop. But, it would be nice to find an online spot made readers by readers.

Does anyone know of a good place on the net to find books and authors?

There are some good review sites like the globe&mail one you mentioned, but most of them are just a list of reviews put out by a company. It's good, but I'm looking more for something reader-driven. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

    I think I found what I'm looking for: http://www.booktalk.org/

It's even got an atheist/free-thinkers slant to it. Sweetness

Have you guys read "The Greatest Show on Earth" yet? I just received it via Amazon today.

We should have a discussion about it on here, chapter by chapter.

I'm just on the second to last chapter, Chris.

Mine arrived the day it was published, and I still haven't started it. I'm mired in about twenty other books right now. Maybe the holiday is a good time to start it.

Greatest show on earth is definitely on the list of books for my winter hibernation. But I hate hardcovers, so I'll wait to buy it. I just reserved a copy at the library.
