OK...what is your problem with the USA?

I see...I only mentioned it because you wouldn't need to deal with the immigration issues...I always "see" Alaska as part of Canada (similar)....even though I (obviously) know it isn't.

    T'was just a thought.

Moving to Canada is not as easy as one thinks. My spouse sponsored me, even still it took three years to get approval for a work permit. another year to qualify for citizenship. During those three years i couldn't work, couldn't go to school, nothing. part of the process. by the time it was all said and done, we had spend close to $1500-2000 in fees, charges and medical processing. Also because i am a former armed forces service member i am allowed to keep my citizenship when i applied for canadian citizenship. There are a few Americans in my local that haven't taken citizenship here because they would have to give up there American citizenship. THAT is the new policy after 9/11.

My buddy in colorado moved here and found that because he had no sponsor, he had to pay fees and proof that he could live for three to four years without government assistance. I.E. show that he had at least $10,000 in reserve for living.

IT is not easy moving to another country...some manage with justa work permit from a company that hires them from abroad. but remember Canadian policy dictates that priority is given to Canadian citizens FIRST. 9when it comes to work) In this part of Canada (national capital region) French is almost ALWAYS require as a second language.

So first and foremost GET YOUR EDUCATION ABOUT IMMIGRATING...the facts that apply to YOU!! not just the facts...but those that apply to your personal circumstance...what worked for me will not work for you...or Bob, or Sally.. SO EDUCATE. Moving to Canada is not like moving from Mississppi to Arizona. It's a different country, different governement, different rules.
