vBulletin 4.0 Errors and Bugs Thread

Hey, Chris.

I just noticed something funny on the main page of the blogs section (http://atheistdiscussion.com/blogs/). For me, the page selection controls sit over top the "Latest Entries", "Most Popular" and "Best Blogs" ads. This happens regardless of the size of the window.

In case it matters, this is on a PC running Internet Explorer 7.

Not a big deal, but I figured you'd want to know.

Thanks, I was aware that there were several display issues with different browsers but I think they've been fixed in v4.0.2 which was released yesterday. I'll be upgrading soon.

In the mean time, I would suggest you stop using IE. I recommend firefox or google chrome as a replacement. Using IE is like leaving your front door open and asking for malware and spyware to be installed on your PC.

Yeah... I like to use FireFox, but the choice of browser on this computer isn't up to me.

Just something I noticed: ever since the most recent update, some posts, but not all of them, seem to have a large block of white space at the beginning. See here for an example: Climate Change and Global Warming

I've noticed it happening with that post of Blondin's, plus all of mine. If it helps you figure things out, I usually post using the "Reply with Quote" button using the quick reply box.

Edit: but it didn't happen with this post. Weird. Maybe the issue is only in certain forums.

What browser are you using? Can you take a screen shot and post it?

Can I ask how the flag thing works? Does UK mean United Kingdom. I tried that one, and it didn't work. So I tried something else randomly but nothing worked there.

hmm I'll look into it. UK is supposed to be United Kingdom.

What are the "points" underneath the flag?

The points are for a point market system that I'm beginning to implement. Once it's in place, you can earn points by posting and trade them in for achievements, special emoticons, customizing your forum title, forum name, and things like that.
