I assume you aren't meaning these are the two choices. My opinion is that euthanasia is one of those practices that is a slippery slope and we don't want to see it turn into something diabolical. Hospice is a compassionate form of it, is it not? I held my dad's hand as he died of cancer. I think he died from the morphine, but would have died painfully of cancer if it weren't for the morphine taking his life first. That's my opinion from being there when he died. We killed friends on rare occasion in the military or they took their own lives and I don't judge that situation. I would judge badly a euthanasia industry. Once money gets in there, we will have a problem. Murder, the wrongful taking of a life is different than simply ending a life, in my view.

Healthcare should be considered a universal right to be provided by ones government free of charge. I'll always remember when I lived in the states and a doctor actually asked me how I intended to pay. At the time I was only sixteen, so this question literally floored me and the only answer I could give was "well, I guess call up Ottawa and see if they'll reimburse you, but I'll be damned if I'm paying you". I still owe the hospital to this day.
On your second point, everyone should have the right to end their own life if they so choose. It's your life, whether sick or not if you want to commit suicide that's your decision to make.
