Amateure Atheist Commercials

What do you guys think about these amateur atheist commercials? I don't think I like them at all. The production quality isn't too bad but the the fact that people are making 'atheist' commercials seems a little odd to me. I think who ever created them is being extremely naive to think that because you are an atheist you are therefore invulnerable to malicious and corrupt thinking or being coerced or persuaded to believe or act in ways we might deem extreme or downright insane.

The islamic extremist commercial where the guy blows himself up is ridiculous. It isn't simply because man has twisted religion to serve his own cause that they decide to blow themselves up. I think the root of the problem is very political. It isn't Islam and blind faith that is to blame (although their religion is total horse shit), it's the fact that the middle east is so oppressed by western governments and totalitarian corporations that control and exploit eastern governments and their states. These people that blow themselves up have no hope for anything and see extremism as the only way to affirm themselves.

Someone should do an amature atheist commercial featuring all those damn psychos that got on at Coughlan666 and Pat Condell on YouTube.

Most of the YouTube atheists (Pat Condell included) are hardly psychotic. They're just saying what needs to be said. In regards to the commercials however, I like them. They're doing the same thing as the Bus Ads did.

What information do you have that even suggests most atheists on youtube are not psychotic?

I never said Pat Condell or Coughlan were psychotic, rather that the majority of their fans are.

There are atheists on YouTube who create an almost idolatry of individuals and would quite literally start fights for them. Having followed conflicts between Atheist groups and Religious groups alike, I've noticed a common thread...Each side of the fence has far more psychos than it does sane rational thinkers.

That, or the rational thinkers just don't care enough to put down their psychotic fans.

I'm a big fan of critical thinking, so I'd love to see some evidence that most youtube atheists are not psychotic. While I don't have access to every youtube atheist, most of the evidence I've seen supports that most youtubers in general are psychotic and atheists are certainly not immune to this stigma.

It's demonstrated at least that a lack of belief in god isn't the defining factor of sanity.

I would like to say I used the word psychotic as a bit of a euphemism, but then really that would imply it wasn't meant to be insulting, when in fact it was. Though I suppose you didn't get my drift. Can't fault the obvious I suppose.

I don't really need a degree to diagnose some nut job on an opinion poll as behaving psychotically, who threatens people on the Internet with harm for posting a video now do I?

If your standard for an authority on opinions were that high, you wouldn't be on this forum giving your own would you?

I agree, no matter where you go there will be trolls and those picking fights just for the sake of picking a fight. No matter what side you're on, this is a common problem. Some ppl just like to be shit disturbers.
